6-Day Kid Blanket Inspired Shrug Crochet PDF Pattern by Betty McKnit

Now you can wear you 6-Day Kid Blanket! This retro-trendy piece is the perfect thing to throw on your arms to keep warm at the roller skating rink or anywhere. The shrug is constructed beginning in the center section with the 6-Day Kid Blanket straight start technique. Once the setup rows are established, each sleeve is started with either chain or foundation sc. The sleeves are worked with the original 6-Day Kid Blanket chevron start along with the center square section. This way we kept the beauty of the chevrons on the sleeves and avoided having an unsightly straight seam. The shrug pictured has fairly slim sleeves with a tiny bit of shaping to make them a little wider at the top. If you would like a wider sleeve you can add an additional repeat of the pattern, which will make your center section a little deeper as well. I like the raw edge of the end of the sleeve, but you can add a cuff if you want to; instructions provided. This is my first 6-Day Kid Blanket Inspired garment.
